Tour 11 of Season 4 of Qatar Equestrian Tour – Longines Hathab Supported By The Social & Sport Contribution Fund (Daam), Qatar’s popular local horse-riding competition series, saw riders showcase their skills alongside the world’s best-taking part in the Longines Global Champions Tour.

Suitably inspired by the action in the premier international event, held at the iconic Longines Arena at Al Shaqab from March 4-6, the riders delivered outstanding performances in the Qatar Equestrian Tour.

Day 1 saw Salman Mohammed Al Emadi deliver a solid performance as he ably steered Zorro Z to first place in the Medium Tour 135cm category, in a time of 30.25 secs. Second place went to current Medium Tour points leader Mohammed Khalifa Albaker, astride Verona, in 30.85 secs. Kamil Sabitov came in third, on Carmen, in 31.02 secs.

In the Medium Tour Team category, Qatar Armed Forces got the job done with minimum fuss to take first place, maintaining top spot in the Team rankings. Limited Edition Cars produced horsepower aplenty to clinch second, with Qatar Equestrian Federation winning the final place on the podium.

Abdulaziz Majid Al Ghanim rode 11-year-old Ferrari P.H. to victory in the Small Tour 115cm category in 50.73 secs. Mohammed Al Ghazali finished second astride Dino BB Z in 51.54 sec, while Hamad Nasser Al Qadi took third on Hugo Z in 51.72 secs.

Day two action got off to a fine start for Ghanim Nasser Al-Qadi, as he bagged first place in 57.13 secs on Cobold in the Open Class category. Nasser Al Ghazali, riding What A Pleasure, took second place, in 57.72 secs. Ali Mohammed Al-Qadi, on Faily, rounded out the top three, to claim third in 58.65 secs.

The Big Tour showpiece category of the day saw faultless performances from the top three riders. Number-one-ranked Nasser Al Ghazali delivered a competent all-round performance on 18-year-old bay gelding Quel Homme, winning first place in 35.68 sec. The second spot went to Faris Saad Al Qahtani, riding Happy Feet, in 36.63 secs. Kamil Sabitov, on Carmen, took third in 37.54 secs.

Tour 11 will conclude on March 11, when the two remaining dressage events take place at the Longines Arena at Al Shaqab.
